Shuttle Bus Instructions AIRLINE PASSENGERS Follow the airport ground transportation signs to the shuttle island area. The common airport shuttle bus operates every 5-10 minutes and will take you to the Rental Car Center on the northeast side of the airport. Upon arrival at the Rental Car Center, proceed inside to the Avis counter. Local renters go to car lot. WALK-UP RENTERS Follow airport signs for Rental Car Return. They will lead to the new Rental Car Center on the northeast side of the airport: 3355 Admiral Boland Way. FROM INTERSTATE 5: Take the Sassafras St exit and turn west onto Sassafras St. Continue through the traffic signal at the Pacific Hwy/Sassafras intersection and folow signs to the Rental Car Center. FROM PACIFIC HWY: Turn west onto Sassafras St and follow the signs to the Rental Car Center. FROM POINT LOMA: Take North Harbor Dr past the airport terminals. Turn left at Laurel St, then left at Pacific Hwy. Turn left onto Sassafras St and follow signs to the Rental Car Center.

Driver's licenses printed in a non-Roman alphabet (such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit.

  Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

  Renters who have indicated a country of residence outside of the United States or Canada will be also required to present A return airline ticket.
